Saturday saw the yard have three runners, Florrie Knox and Millers Bank at Bangor and Dandilion on the flat at Lingfield.   Florrie Knox was having his first run over fences and there was a real hot pot in his race rated 147.  We were keen for him to have a nice clear run around, mission accomplished and he managed to finish a good 3rd.  His owners were thrilled as were we and I t...

After a slightly frustrating week, Flowaway cheered everybody up by winning at Uttoxeter!   Last week we took The Drone & Maria Magdalena up to Catterick, both standing good chances of either winning or going close. The Drone ran first, travelled well throughout the race but the ground had definitely gone to soft for him and after being prominent for most of the race he finished well do...

We had four runners at Huntingdon yesterday, which turned out to be a bit of an up and down day.  Mountain Ranger, who has had quite a few issues, pulled up in the Novice Chase.  The Owners have decided to retire him as he does not seem in love with the game anymore.  We will endeavour to find him a lovely forever home now.   Ultimatum Du Roy was having his first run for over...

The good form continued last week with two 2nds, a 3rd, a 4th and two 5ths!   We took The Drone, Musical Stardust and Millers Bank up to Fakenham.  Millers Bank was having his first run over hurdles and ran a super race to finish 2nd behind a horse that looks to have a very bright future.  He has come out of the race well and will hopefully go on from that run.   Musical St...

What an amazing week, it is now four winners out of four runners in the last week.  Jonjoela led from the start to finish in the last at Plumpton yesterday under a superb ride by Harry Bannister.  She is very new to the yard, her first run for us and her first win after 23 starts.  So pleased for her Owner the In The Pink Partnership, they were absolutely thrilled as you can imagine...

Well what a last week it has been, we have had three runners and all of them have won.  Firstly Jimmi Chew at Huntingdon, then the very consistant Maria Magdalena won up at Wetherby, that is 3 wins over hurdles and one on the flat over the last four months.  Last but not least Flowaway made her hurdling debut at Market Rasen.  Considering the amount of schooling she has done s...

What a superstar Jimmi Chew is after leading from the start yesterday at Huntingdon he just held onto make it two in a row!  A super ride by Harry Bannister who partnered him on his last win at Uttoxeter and so happy for his very supportive owners the Brackenbury family.

It is amazing how time flies and we are already in the middle of October.  September started really well with Jimmi Chew winning at Uttoxeter under a great ride by Harry Bannister.  Much deserved win for the horse and his Owners the Brackenbury Family.    The Open Day was on the 8th September where we welcomed around 180 Owners and friends.  The weather was very kind and...

It was great to get another winner on the board for Sunday with Maria Magdalena.  We have only had her a few months and in that time she has been place 3 times and finally got her much deserved win at Market Rasen.  She is a really tough mare, loves to jump and battles.  The win was made even better by the fact that our Amateur jockey, Jamie Brace rode her.  It was Jamie's 2nd ...

We took Nervous Nerys down to Brighton on Tuesday hoping she could improve on her 5th place last time out.  It had rained quite heavily all day turning the ground from good to firm to good to soft.  This did not put Nerys off and she put up a great performance just to grab 1st place on the line.  Really thrilled for her Owners Equinox Racing and great to have a winner on the board f...

Seeubackincoppers has recently joined the yard and we are looking to form a new syndicate for her.  She is a gorgeous looking 6 year old mare by Oscar with a lovely pedigree.  She has run in two point to points, on her first run she got tired and need the race.  On her second run she was desputing the lead when she fell two fences from home, she would have definitely have won or gon...

A great result this week for the team.  Musical Stardust who was second her first run after a break went one better and won down at Fontwell under a superb ride by Jamie Brace.  So pleased for both of them, Jamie's first win under rules and Musical Stardust's first win.  Great also for her owner, Jane Way, who bred her and had to hand rear her from 3 days old as unfortunately her mo...

It has been a good week for the team at Alex Hales Racing.  On Saturday Huntsman Son went up to Haydock and ran really well to be 2nd in a very good race.  He was leading over the last and just got caught on the run in.  A great performance from him.   On Tuesday The Drone ran a cracking race to win at Southwell to make it two in a row for him and Kielan.  He is very tou...

As the new season is nearly two weeks old we are pleased to introduce two new recruits to the yard, Maria Magdalena and Un-Named colt by Kingston Hill.  Maria is a three year old who has had four runs on the flat and looks ideal for a dual purpose career.  So far she has done nothing wrong and has a lovley temperament.     Our other new member to the string is a two year o...

Saturday saw the end of the 2018-2019 season.  For us it has been a bit of an up and down season for many reasons.  We had a great start with The Drone and Mister Fizz flying through the summer.  The Drone won one race was second once and third twice before he had a break.  Mister Fizz won three on the bounce for us in the space of a month which amazing.  The horses ran re...

A great weekend was had by all!   Huntsman Son went down to Newbury in his first race since his wind op.  He has been in really good form but with some of the string not being 100% you can sometimes not tell how they are going to run until they get to the track.  He is a very tough horse and we could not have been more thrilled for the horse and his Owner, Mr Bill Booth, when he w...

We had a great start to the New Year with Ceara Be fighting out up at Fakenham for a New Years Day winner.  Much deserved by her, she is very tough and always gives everything. The Drone was also 3rd which was another consistent run by him.   Rough Night went down to Fontwell and ran really well to be 3rd after his disappointing run last time.  He was leading coming around t...

After a slightly frustrating time recently with horses running well but not winning, Rough Night finally got us off of the Cold Trainers list with an easy victory down at Lingfield.  It was his first run for  the yard and he really ploughed through the mud to come home in front.  Really pleased for his owner Tricia Morris and also for Kielan Woods who has been plagued by injur...

It has been another very busy week at Trafford Bridge and we were very pleased to welcome another new recruit in Stacey Sue.  We purchased her from Goffs on Wednesday and she was definitely one of the stand out lots.  She has won two point to points and won a bumper last week at Worcester making the front cover of the Racing Post as she was ridden by Charlie Swan's son.   ...
