It has been a busy week at Trafford Bridge with the horses starting to get back on track.
On Sunday Grasse D'Oliverier ran up at Market Rasen. We were hoping that she would improve from her 5th place last time out and she didn't disappoint. She sat handy throughout the majority of the race and took it up coming into the home straight to win easily under a great ride by Johnny Burke. Thrilled for her owner Mrs Jill Mayo, who became one of our owners after Charlie Mann retired and it was lovely that her grandson could be there to pick up the prize.
On Monday we took Boldmere to Fakenham. The heavens had opened up throughout the morning making the going really hardwork. There were only four in the race, however one of those was Cyclop who beat us last time. We were travelling well Cyclop unfortunately fell which then left us to fend off Fidux, Boldmere dug deep and just held on. Thrilled for his owner Mr John O'Dell who is not well at the moment.
Yesterday we took Looking As You Are and Casi Crudo to Southwell races. It was Looking As You Are's racecourse debut and we were thrilled that she came 2nd beaten 1/2 length. Even more thrilling was the fact that we bred her along with Annie Fry and David Fitzgerald. Hopefully lots more fun to come with her and for The Gumbrills Racing Partnership.
Casi Crudo was coming back after a short break and ran consistently as ever to finish 3rd. He will definitely come on for the race and should be there or thereabout next time all being well.
