Flowaway Makes It Two In A Row

After a slightly frustrating week, Flowaway cheered everybody up by winning at Uttoxeter!

Last week we took The Drone & Maria Magdalena up to Catterick, both standing good chances of either winning or going close. The Drone ran first, travelled well throughout the race but the ground had definitely gone to soft for him and after being prominent for most of the race he finished well down the field.

Next was Maria who was having her last run before a break.  She was travelling really well and would have either won or gone very close when she ran out at the 2nd but last hurdle from home.  Really out of character for her as her jumping has won her many races this year.  These things obviously happen and there are no guarantees but the main thing is she is ok and we will look forward to a spring campaign with her.

Methag ran down at Wincanton and went off favourite.  It was a strange race where she went very flat through the middle of the race.  She came back to challenge and only just missed out.  She would probably have won if the race had been run differently but again there are no guarantees!

Smooth Stepper went to Warwick and ran a cracker only to be beaten by 1/2 a length.  A great result by him for his first run of the season and he will come on for the race.

Yesterday Flowaway went to Uttoxeter in very wet conditions.  She was carrying a penalty for winning last time out, so it was going to be tough for her.  She, however, pulled out all of the stops and won well after a battle up the home straight.  A great ride by Harry Bannister and chuffed for her Owners who much deserve the win.  She will have to run next time under a double penalty which is not going to be easy!
