Two Winners In Two Days!

After a quiet start to the New Year we had a super couple of days with two winners and a third.  On Friday we took Scooter Boy and Vaillant Creek to Huntingdon.  After so much rain we had hoped it would remain quiet sloppy but with such a strong wind blowing the ground dried out and was very tacky.  This did not suit Creek, who hated the going and was pulled up.   Scooter Boy was next and after his first hurdle run at Towcester where he was so full of himself he nearly got rid of Kielan before the first we were slightly wondering what to expect.  This time he was over a shorter distance, hence they went that bit quicker so he had to concentrate on racing rather than being silly.  He ran really well, got into a good position and would have been 3rd, which we would have been happy with, if two had not fallen at the last.  This enabled him to gallop on and take the number one spot.  Although a lucky win, it was great for his Owners who have been very patient with him and many of them were there to see him.

On Saturday we had Barenice up at Wetherby and Big Jim at Warwick.  Barenice was having his second run for us after the first was very disappointing, however this time he put up a super performance to be 3rd and will have learnt a huge amount from that experience.

Big Jim was back down in trip to two miles, which you think would not suit such a big horse as him but it seemed to.  He jumped off in front and stayed there, jumped from fence to fence and won in great fashion by quite a few lengths.  Again his Owners the Gumbrills Partnership were there to see him and from what I have been told they could definitely be heard yelling from the stands. Huge congratulations to all involved with Jimmy!

This week we have Running Wolf going on the all weather at Lingfield, the ground is far to soft for him and he needs a run so we are going back on the flat.  Ogaritmo has an entry on Friday at Market Rasen but we might wait for Fakenham next week for her.
