Two Days, Four Winners!

I believe it is called a purple patch but the last couple of days have been amazing.  We have had two across the board doubles in the last two days.  On Sunday we were at Market Rasen with Ultimatum Du Roy and Running Wolf and Warwick with Come On Harriet and Take Two.  The ball started rolling at 3.05pm with Roy who was given a peach of a ride by Noel Fehily to land the handicap chase and then within the matter of 10 minutes about 100 miles away Take Two got his nose in front to win at Warwick ridden expertly by James Banks.

Great at result for both sets of Owners, Mr Allen (Roy) whose horses have been running really well all season and Steve and Petra Walkace (Take Two) who are great supporters and put their heart and soul into the game.

Day 2 saw lorries going in different directions again with Royaume Bleu, Gilzean and Ogaritmo going south to Plumpton and Midnight Chorister making the shorter trip to Stratford.

Winner 1, Midnight Chorister (Bambi) has had his issues but does seem to be getting his act together now.  He has to be ridden exactly to instructions otherwise it all goes wrong.  If he gets in front to earlier he seems to get lonely and waits for his friends which in other situations would be fine but not when you are trying to win a race.  The 'problem' is he is such a good jumper he jumps himself to the front so the race has to be judged exactly right.  Luckily we had Kielan Woods on board who now knows him really well and produced him to jump the last upsides and he then went on and won nicely.  A great result for his Owners The Chorister who I believe win their Cheltenham spending money yesterday!

Off to Plumpton to complete the double when our racing club superstar put in another superb performance to win really nicely again ridden by the in form jockey Noel Fehily.  Gilly is not very big but managed to win well despite carrying top weight and seems to be loving his racing more and more as get gets older.  It was great that so many of the Edging Ahead Club were their to pick up the trophy.

To have a couple of days like the last two it makes all of the hard work and support put into Alex Hales Racing worthwhile, so a huge thank you to all of our Owners, Staff and everybody involved.  It is a big team effort and one that is very much appreciated.  I have also decided my new favourite colour is purple!
