Ultimatum 2nd In The Mud
After praying for rain it finally arrived just in time for Ultimatum Du Roy at Uttoxeter. We thought he stood a really good chance although the horse that beat him last time was also in the race. It had been raining for most of the day so conditions were ideal and as usual Roy put up his consistent performance but rather than getting put into 2nd place by his old rival it was Loughhalder, Matt Sheppards horse, who was in first time blinkers that galloped through the mud to win. Roy is fine after his run and we will just watch the weather to see if we can on for a while longer or give him his break now.
Today is a busy one for Alex Hales Racing with 3 runners at Warwick. At the moment there are an awful lot of evening meetings (tonight is one of them) which is great for the public as they do not have to take time off work but can just come along later on. Royaume Bleu, Vaillant Creek and Stepover are all due to run, their races do look quite hot especially the bumper for Stepover but fingers crossed they will all put up a good performance.
We are quiet tomorrow and then on Monday the plan is to run Maybell at Towcester in the Bumper and Capsize at Windsor on the Flat.
Have a good weekend and enjoy the racing.
