Millers Bank Make A Great Debut Over Fences

It has been quite an up and down week.

Last Sunday we took Abington Park, Millers Bank and Stigwood to Huntingdon.  Millers Bank was having his first run over fences after a very successful season over hurdles last year.  It is alway quite a nervous time when they first go over fences, however he has schooled well at home and the practice paid off with a very polished round of jumping.  He made it look easy and came home to be a clear winner.  Such a thrill and a very exciting horse for the future.

Abington Park ran really well and finished a creditable 2nd, he has really improved since he has been with us and hopefully he can continue progressing.  He won't want soft ground so we will have to watch the weather for future runs.

Stigwood ran well to be 4th.  His jumping is slowly coming together and it was great to get him placed for the In The Pink Partnership.

On Monday we took Sid Hoodie to Hereford, Sea Prince and Methag went down to Plumpton.

Sid Hoodie was running a really good race, when suddenly she did not feel great and Harry pulled her up.  She is sound and we will give her a full MOT to see if we can find anything.

Sea Prince ran well but was a little bit free, he did well to finish 3rd as he could have easily have burn't himself out by pulling so hard.

Methag ran really well to finish 3rd, she is a really tough little mare who always give everything.

On Friday it was For Pleasure's turn to make his debut over fences.  He always goes from the front and was jumping well until3 from home when he got in close and came down.  He lives to fight another day and hopefully can get a clear round next time.

Yesterday Happy & Fine had his first run for us and put up a great performance to be 3rd.  Thrilled for his owners, who are new to racing and I think they have got a nice horse on their hands.
