Fagan and Omar Maretti Keep The Flag Flying

It has been a great couple of weeks, even though the weather has not really been playing ball!  Fagan made the short trip for us down to Newbury.  It was a horrible day, with constant rain and we did wonder if the meeting would go ahead.  The going was heavy and had a lot of horses toiling but not Fagan who seemed to relish the conditions and pulled a way from the last to be an easier winner.  Harry Bannister gave him a patient ride and waited for the right moment to press the go button.  Really pleased for the Brackenbury family who own him and have been great supporters of the yard.

We made the much further trip up to Catterick with a new recruit to the yard in Omar Maretti.  He has not been with us very long and should have been pointing to pointing.  With all the point to points under lockdown his owner decided to send him under rules and luckily picked us to send him to.  He is a lovely horse and gallop around again through heavy ground to be a clear winner.  Partnered by Kielan Woods, he really impressed and there is hopefully a lot more to come from him.

Meetings are being abandoned everywhere at the moment.  Poor Petite Madam made the long trip up to Sedgefield only for that to be abandoned an hour before racing and then set off on Saturday for Wetherby only for that to be abandoned when they were half way to the course.  Prospects for the week don't look good but fingers crossed for some all weather action with the jumpers bumpers.
