Good Week at Trafford Bridge
It has been a good week here at Trafford Bridge with the horses continuing to run well.
Jonjoela and Kankin ran really well at Market Rasen on Thursday to both finish second. The weather was terrrible and the ground not ideal but Jonjoela led from the start and only got headed close to home. She improved on her last run and is sure to give her owners lots of fun throughout the season. Kankin was having his first ever run on a racetrack and did not disappoint. He managed to plough through the mud and was really unlucky to be beaten by a short head. He is a lovely horse and will probably be better on sounder ground.
On Saturday Smooth Stepper went up to Aintree in the Becher Chase. Very exciting and also nerveracking! He was an absolute star and took to the National fences really well. He is an out and out galloper and ran really well to finish 5th. Harry Bannister rode him and gave hime a fantastic ride. Hiconic was in the following race but did not sparkle as she usually does and she will now go on a well deserved holiday.
It was straight onto Kelso from Aintree with Bourbon Beauty. A long trek but the race looked ideal for her. She again did not disappoint and showed how tough she is to get her nose in front on the line. She stays all day and is a lovely mare, she is sure to give her owners, The Old Stoic Racing Club, lots of fun.
