Frosty Mornings

Winter looks like it is here, a very cold morning with frost on the ground.  A busy week so far at Trafford Bridge with three runners on Monday at Plumpton, one runner at Fakenham today, one at Wolverhampton tomorrow and possibly runners at Market Rasen on Sunday.

After a four hours journey down to Plumpton on Monday the heavens opened and what was good to soft ground turned to soft to heavy.  Midnight Chorister was having his second run on the season and put a good performance to be 3rd.  He will now get a handicap mark and will hopefully be very competitive in his own grade.  Running Wolf was having his 2nd run over hurdles, he hated the ground but put up a clear round and it is all good jumping experience.  The third runner was to have been Shinooki who would definitely not have handled the conditions so we pulled him out and he goes to Fakenham today.

Back to the flat tomorrow at Wolverhampton with Take Two having his 2nd outing of the season.  He should hopefully have come on from his last run and looking for a good show.

Sunday is stil a bit up in the air as to whether we run Royaume Bleu or not.  We need rain up at Market Rasen and although it is forecast you can never guarantee how much so we will have to watch the weather closely.

Yesterday we took Isaac Bell and Minella down to Lambourn for a gallop.  Both went well and will not be far off of a run.

Apart from the runners all very busy in the yard.  We have a new Head Lad, Danny Gannon, who has joined us and seems to have settled in very well.  We also have a couple of new girls so all in all a good team in place.
