Preparations For The Season Going Well

We may seem to still be very quiet runners wise but there is lots happening behind the scences.  Yesterday we took six horses down to Lambourn just to get a gadge of where we are fitness wise and also to give them a trip away from home.  We took Barenice, Allnecessaryforce, Running Wolf, Minellaforleisure, Stepover and Isaac Bell.  They all worked well and the majority of who we took seemed to be nearly spot on.  A couple may need to go away a couple more times but in the main we are nearly there.  We will do the same again next Thursday and maybe try to take some of the babies away for educational purposes.

We had Kielan in this morning and went down to the indoor school for some practice over the showjumping poles.  The first lot were the youngsters and all in all they behaved very well and jumped very well which is pleasing.  It is great for the babies having their first taste of getting their feet off of the ground without scaring themselves if they touch a pole.

As I said earlier we are not far off with the majority of the string being ready to run but we do need some rain.  Although we had a fair drop last week becauses the weather is so warm the ground is back to being quick and we will not risk any of them on anything other than genuine good ground or softer so fingers crossed the heavens open soon.
